Went to the boot/shoe repair shop earlier today, as we were supposed to do for the longest time. Turns out my boots aren't repairable. Sigh.

I'll use that as an excuse to get myself new boots. And by "new boots", I mean "brand new milspec combat boots", to be clear. I will most likely buy some other shoes as well in the coming times, because my shoes situation isn't looking too good, but there are brand new milspec combat boots in my future. Massively overspecified and overdone boots, designed to walk what seems like a hundred miles a day without destroying your feet. Black. Creaky leather (might have to settle for the microfibers stuff, bleh). Hmm... Goodness!

Oh, and the combat ones are the practical, light ones. The heavy, bulky ones are parade boots, but I don't really like those (wlach and cloquewerk have boots like that). I've had more, um, normal low boots (just over the ankle), and they're about the same weight, but don't nearly leave me feeling as cool as I did with my combat boots.
