What should I do now?

I've heard the following, once upon a time: "Always code as if the guy who ends up maintaining your code will be a violent psychopath who knows where you live."

What happens if I am the violent psychopath? I know where I live. Am I supposed to kill myself tonight?

It'll do something, but I'm not certain whether it's increase or decrease the chances of murderous mishaps. :-)
