Every once in a while...

One of my cousin passed away today. Not so bad, I wasn't that close to her anymore, but still kind of funny, she wasn't that old (technically my generation, but she was in her early forties, if I remember correctly). Okay, she's allowed to die, but only because she's not less than thirty and gave plenty of advance notice (she had cancer).

I hesitated before posting this, as I was a bit stuck between not wanting to look like I'm "stirring up sympathy" (not the case at all), and actually writing about what's happening in my life (which is the point of this journal).

While it's definitely something that happened, and I did feel sad as memories of her came back to me, I have strong perspective on this. I hadn't seen her in any significant amount for more than ten years. She was the oldest child of one of my oldest uncle, she did manage to live some life, and it wasn't a complete shock like a car accident or something. I'm actually glad that this is now over for her.

Thanks to everyone for their sympathy, nonetheless. It feels good to know that people care.
