On our way to Québec City, just past Drummondville, we saw a sign on the road announcing a nudist camp. Not any random sign, but official Ministère du Transport du Québec signage, the real stuff, the blue kind announcing stuff like tourist attractions and the like. Up to this point, some might be giggling, "oh, a nudist camp, hihi!". But that's not what this is about.

They have the same kind of signs announcing things like cheese factories, for example. In fact, there was one at the next exit. But while the cheese factory has a generic icon (people gawking a a dude pointing at a factory-type object), the one for the nudist camp had a specialized icon. Papa nudist, mama nudust and kiddie nudist, complete with butt-crack details (to make it clear they aren't wearing clothes, obviously).

I'm totally down with nudist camps, don't get me wrong. But there's a two hilarious things here. In Québec, there's no specialized icon for a cheese factory (of which there are many, and I can think of an obvious "wheel of cheese" icon right off the top of my head, and I'm no MTQ Icon Expert), but there's one for nudist camps. Second, the icon really had stupidly high level of detail in the bum area, relatively speaking. We're talking buzzing past at 120 km/h "hey, that was a buttcrack!" detail.

This takes true genius.

I didn't really feel like taking photos friday evening, but we had a very beautiful magic hour at sunset. Was so lazy I didn't even use my tripod here, just cranked up the ISO to 1600 and took it handheld. This camera rocks so much!

Okay, so maybe I'm not in London right now, but I find comfort however I can!

Ah, the safety of fortifications. I say let them come!

Today I felt more like photography, despite the annoying cold. I like playing with perspective, and with my 20D crop factor, my 100mm/f2 lens becomes quite the fun toy.

We also went to the Montmorency Falls to see the "sugar loaf". The people are tiny!

More perspective compression wanking, as I'm at the bottom of the sugar loaf, with Hub at the top.

We wandered about town a bit after. I saw a bunch of Ogg Vorbis-capable portable music players, to my dismay, as I've been wishing for one, and I'm trying to save money! Their unavailability made it rather easy, but now... A 512 megabyte flash player is only $180! Ohh...

We stopped on the way back in Drummondville, to have poutine where it comes from. It was good, and we got some french action from [livejournal.com profile] thebabynancy!

On an unrelated note, I got spam today related to over-sized bath towels. Is that an unfortunate consequence of all this other penis-enlarging spam?

Yeah, was a cool time. Did the crêpe bretonne with the cider thing (where it vaporizes *drools*)...
