I've been sitting on this for a while, got them by way of [livejournal.com profile] morethanreal (also seen in [livejournal.com profile] jwz's jourmal, with witty comments and all).

[livejournal.com profile] azrhey and I once discussed how there's a few people's voices, they could just read the phone book and be awesome. For her, it's Sean Bean's. For me, it's Blixa Bargeld's, singer of Einstürzende Neubauten (which means "collapsing new buildings", the "new buildings" being actually the ugly and now-old buildings that have been hastily build after WWII in Germany).

Well, there it is. Blixa Bargeld reading from the catalog of Horbach, a German home improvement store, of all things. He reads about an electric mosquito killer, paving stones, a power drill (of course!) and paint.

I find they are in order of increasing awesomeness. [livejournal.com profile] cpirate gave the power drill an extra points for rhymes, but his enthusiasm for the paint is quite high. And the brush, ohh, the brush! It's big!

I have to admit being a bit intrigued sometimes by the people who have been friending me. My interactions with [livejournal.com profile] blueelf13, for example, have been limited to saying "hi" and "oh, you have an iBook", that's about it. Of course, as is my own personal habit, I friended her when I met her (I use my friends list mostly as a list of people I have met in person, with very few exceptions). She didn't reciprocate, quite understandably (my policy isn't so common around LiveJournal users, it would seem). But now, months after I've met her, for (what I think is!) the only time, a certain number of months ago (not even sure), she's friended me.

What did it? My long rambly rants whining about the design of iTunes and the Mac OS X toolchain? My briefer, but cryptic reports of what I have done during the day, including toilets, fencing, sausages and funny compiler warnings? Does she want to put a $20 in my buttcrack too (a tip to everyone interested: it's free, just ask nicely!)? This seems more and more dubious, as I look into it. Oh well.

Do not go and think I've got something against people friending me (she seemed cool, from what little I've seen, I like the blue hair), but I'm curious by nature, I like to know how things work and how people think.

Now, there's also the case of [livejournal.com profile] heatherdmac. One day last Novembar, she left a comment, asking if she could friend me (I understand this is not so uncommon, but I find it odd). She's from Kentucky. She likes the color pink, shoes, shopping, new country music and Johnny Depp. Now, okay, while I do like Johnny Depp, the rest is quite... odd. Then, just as mysteriously, she unfriended me. Poof.

I ran an AppleScript over my whole music collection in iTunes that adjusted the meta-data for my Ogg Vorbis files. I can now use iScrobbler and the "Get Music" feature of Xjournal (when I use it) without letting out strings of swear words. But it took about 40 minutes and nearly turned my Powerbook into a puddle of molten aluminium. Note to self: do not run this thing every day.

I had this plan of trying to fix my sleeping schedule. It sounded good. I did go to sleep lateish yesterday, but not too horribly. Then I'd wake up early, so I'd be tired tonight.

Cue me in, waking up at 3pm. With a (still ongoing) headache.

Gah.
