Pride stung a bit, but who am I kidding? I have a 52 liter garbage can in my kitchen, I'm not even sure my toaster works and I have my summer tires stacked in my living room. A bachelor flat, really. I try to keep things under control, but really, what keeps my pile of dishes so small is that I don't use much dishes to start with.
At a deeper level, though, it makes me feel good. Have you ever been around someone who just tells you that you rock, all the time? Blind worshipping like this gets old pretty quickly. I think it's because it loses its credibility: I don't rock all the time, I know that, so sometimes, they lie. And since I don't know when they lie, it might just be anything. So I can't trust any of it.
Beware someone who won't say no to you. They might not really be saying yes to you either.
So if you don't mind, I'll go put the trash to the curb and do some dishes now. :-)
