Settling in

pphaneufMoved into our actual apartment last Friday (the 4th)! I signed a bazillion pieces of paper, had to do some (very light) weaseling, and now we're in. We still have access for a little while to the other place, which isn't very attractive, other than for the access to the pool. Might stop by on the way back from work...
We received our fridge Saturday (the 5th), and I didn't remember, but it's of the same brand as the existing oven, dishwasher and hood (which is very fancy and futuristic), matching stainless steel goodness, it's so fancy! We went to buy a bunch of things, including a freakin' 65 euros garbage can, and paint to cover the "interesting" fuschia colour of the bedroom...
We put in the order for Internet, but it'll be no Internet for us until we get the Freebox delivered, which is said to take between 10 days and three weeks. I can use the Internet at work, sure, but I can't refresh my news feeds (which includes LiveJournals), update or commit to my software projects or post to LiveJournal using Xjournal. Oh well, I'll drop by that Internet café downtown, once in a while.

Oops, turns out that this Internet café I was thinking of is closed for most of August (as are a whole lot of stuff around here, everyone is on vacation), but we finally found another one which is actually even nicer. We'll be receiving Internet soon (our ADSL box has been shipped today), but in the meantime, I'm poorly connected.
I'm actually accumulating posts in my feed reader (it says 266 unread posts at the moment, all but two of them are LiveJournal posts!), which I am planning on catching up to eventually (I'm crazy that way, sometimes). So if in a week or two you get some comments on posts that are going to be three weeks old by then, don't be surprised, you have been warned. :-P

Lots of work left still, but we have a workable bedroom, a usable kitchen, an espresso machine and stuff, but we're still missing, say, a dining table (using my desk at the moment!). I took some photos of pre- and post-painting, I'll post that eventually...
