Feel the bleh!
Jul. 11th, 2006 10:57 amWent to get some insurance for our new apartment (here, it's required and it work in a similar way as car insurance works in Quebec), which was easy, other than having to actually show up there and them having silly opening hours. Depositing a cheque here is also quite a circus. Envelope that you put in the ATM? Think again! You have to fill out a small piece of paper, duplicating the information that's on the cheque and inside the chip on your ATM card (to make it extra challenging, it's not written on the card, so you have to also carry one of your own cheque, for reference or something). Then you put it in a flimsy wooden deposit box. Thankfully (because of the flimsiness), the box is inside the actual branch, but this also means that it's impossible to deposit a cheque outside of opening hours. Have I mentioned how ridiculous the bank opening hours are? They make the hours of the banks in Canada seem convenient (which is quite an amusing thought!)!
Feeling rather bored at work, but I'll be hanging on.
azrhey was almost hit by a cyclist while going to meet me after work, fell down when she jumped out of the way (also dodging the incoming car!) and twisted her ankle. She also scraped her right knee, so it's her turn: I had the scraped left knee, and wonked something in my neck. Now I'm almost done healing from those, and it's her turn! She took care of the content of my head, though, when I was feeling rather depressed, when going to bed.
She was supposed to go take care of the delivery of our things at our future apartment, but I took over, obviously. I'm writing this at the café at the corner of our future place, which has wireless Internet from a neighbour, and has coffee that is all right, that's a plus. I'd rather have staying in bed this morning, though...
Got to chat a little bit with
tygrbabe yesterday, as well, who was also heading to her new boring job. I hope this is just a passing fad!
