Okay, some catching up to do, before I just drop the ball! What was my last week like, you may wonder? Well, okay, you probably don't, but here it is anyway!

Monday, I went with [livejournal.com profile] azrhey to the travel agent and we bought our plane tickets. On the 5th of June, we will be taking off from Montreal, land at London's Heathrow airport, transfer over to Gatwick, then jaunt over to Toulouse. Technically, it is a two way ticket, but this is mostly because my visa requires it, it has a return date in June 2007 (the furthest we could make it).

After heading home and feeding myself, I then headed over to [livejournal.com profile] gregorama's to polish off a bottle of wine and chat about some of the crazy things happening in our lives.

Tuesday, I had the visit of the lady [livejournal.com profile] azrhey. We stayed home, fed ourselves and cuddled. Goodness.

Wednesday, I got the bike out, finally! Came in handy for more travel-related errands... I went to see Why We Fight with a bunch of other people. It was pretty good, but like [livejournal.com profile] azrhey said in an earlier post, I wished they talked more about the role of the media of this madness. I remember alternating between Canadian and American news channels during the 9-11 attacks and the war in Iraq, and getting this idea that maybe the American citizens weren't that nuts after all, getting fed this propagandistic drivel. [livejournal.com profile] azrhey wasn't feeling too awesome, had her take a cab home and rest. Upon biking home, I kept going a minute or two and dropped by to say hello to [livejournal.com profile] tygrbabe.

Thursday, I wandered on the Plateau with [livejournal.com profile] tygrbabe, checking out the record stores. And it paid off!

Friday was made of having food with people. I went to an HNSX/Cray alumni reunion lunch at Bâton Rouge in DDO, as a result of the news of my departure. Later that day, after dealing with a priority interrupt, I joined [livejournal.com profile] azrhey, [livejournal.com profile] lesnuages and [livejournal.com profile] sps for some tasty dinner at Chez Doval. I was made to laugh irresistibly by mentions of such things as isomoronic lines and XOR chains. Geeky. :-)

Saturday, being April's fool, I was pranked upon, with appalling amounts of success. Gah! Got a haircut with [livejournal.com profile] azrhey, with one of the stylist commenting on my "finely proportioned body", while staring at my crotch... Heh. Then headed over to my mom for dinner, with a stop at Romados for picking up desserts, of course! Stopped at my dad's on the way back to say hello and pick up my summer tires (say hello to the even more sure-footed Linux Mobile soon!).

Sunday, did some amounts of cleaning in the apartment, as well as getting the visit of Jean and Joëlle. The latter will soon be moving into her own apartment, so she came to see what she could pickup from me. A fair amount, much to my relief. Damn, forgot to ask about the car! Oops. Went for some coffee at Café Blue Monday for a break, decided to head back there later and hang out with [livejournal.com profile] tygrbabe. She took me to a nice little spot along the river, we watched the sun set and the colour changed to deep blues, contrasting beautifully with the golden yellow light reflecting off the buildings along the bike path...

And now... we're NOW!

You're aware that Heathrow and Gatwick are on opposite ends of London, yes? And you're aware that London is very very big, yes?

Good luck sorting out the trains. :)

I am leaning on taking the bus at this point. The National Express 70 runs wevery 15 mintues between heathrow and Gatwick all day long.

Trains are easier with luggage though, I would think. You'd surely have to transfer at least once, maybe twice, but it might be worth it to avoid a squatty bus.

Heathrow express stops at Paddington
Gatwick express stops at VictoriaSo it is either 3 train shots
or tweo trains and a bus
or two trains and a underground.

the bus is still the best bet IMO

I'm told the bus schedule says 70 minutes, so even if it's double that, we'll have five hours until our flight, so it should work out. And it's a coach type of bus, shouldn't be too horrible.

The lady over there traveled a bunch and even studied to be a travel agent, so I figure it really can't be worse than what I'd figure out on my own! ;-)

Fair enough. I guess I just love trains too much. :)

Waaah! I can't see either of the April Fool's Day pranks you linked to.

But I am intrigued by your music.

It's about a girl I'm seeing here (not [livejournal.com profile] azrhey, who is coming to France with me), who was saying this thing about getting collared with a "no sex for two month" order by her dom. The second link was her, mocking my silliness for going with it. :-P

My music? Front 242's "Serial Killers Don't Kill Their Boyfriend" (the instrumental pendant to "Serial Killers Don't Kill Their Girlfriend", cool track if you like the musical style), or my find while wandering the Plateau (Me Mom and Morgentaler's album that kicks so much ass you'll need a new colon after listening to it)?
