Thanks for the support, people. Just a teensy bit of panic, you know? I'm slowly coming back to my sense and taking care of the stuff.

Seems like I might not be able to take Diva along with me. I've started looking at finding her a new host. I had someone in mind, asked there first. Might still require some temporary lodging (for a few months). I'm rather sad, I'll miss her a lot (I did when I was in France for two weeks!). This will be the second cat that I really care about that I'd have to split up with.

Looking into getting rid of the Linux Mobile too. Much less heartbreaking, even though I might get a bit sentimental at times. So, if you'd be interested in taking over a lease on a low mileage, well-maintained Mazda Protegé5 2003 (here's a photo), contact me.

The only acceptable replacement would be, of course, a McLaren F1 (got to have some goals, no?), the only three-seater sport car ever, while also being one of the most awesome ever, full stop. Coincidence? I think not. ;-)

Went to see Peter Jackson's King Kong with [livejournal.com profile] red_star_stone. I felt a bit thorn about that. On one hand, I didn't entirely feel like going out for a movie, and even if I had, I'd probably prefer going with someone I feel closer to, before time runs out. But on the other hand, I don't really like dropping the ball on people at the last minute, especially as she had changed her work schedule to fit this day. So I decided to stay with it (I did back out of some other things, and will be pickier, to make better use of what time I do have). I'm told I might be a little too nice, sometimes. I can think of worse things I could be too much of, that'll have to do!

Turned out okay. It's a good movie, although not making the top of my list. Some performances were spotty, good at times, not so much in others. The kind of content did suit my slightly iffy mood pretty well, though, and maybe it wasn't such a bad decision after all to go. I wasn't too hungry today, and now, I feel the hunger coming back. Easily entertained, I suppose!

Got to chat a bit with the good man [livejournal.com profile] gregorama, whom I'll be having dinner with (in company of [livejournal.com profile] azrhey and [livejournal.com profile] jul3z, awesome company!) tomorrow evening. That should be quite nice, and I should be in a much better mood by then!

At first I thought "Linux Mobile" was something like the Nokia 770 or one of those snazzy PDA's. The McLaren F1 would be a great upgrade to what you have now, especially if you take it onto one of the autobahns in Germany. I remember my history teacher once saying that he saw two expensive sport cars tailgating each other doing over 200Kph on one of them. That probably didn't end well.

The Old Dublin was a bit of a blur with all those LJers there, so I was wondering if you could refresh my memory on the LJ names of a few of those there. I didn't quite get the names of the well-dressed asian gentleman there (I think you said his name was Christophe?) as well as the girl with the glasses next to you and the girl named Laura who got there shortly after I did. It was an interesting night to say the least and much more enjoyable than spending it at work.

Hello!

Even though you befriended me, I'm afraid that I wasn't at the Old Dub last night.

The Asian gentleman there is likely to have been Chris. He is distinguished by his distinguished form of dress.

Don't worry I'm not confusing you for him. I was just perusing LJ's last night and found yours interesting.

Meh, autobahns... Already doing pretty good on the 401! But I'd expect that such an amazing car, on even better pavement, with traffic also going at good speeds, as well as, um, legality, would all be much better! But really, it's all about the seating arrangement. :-)

The girl with the glasses next to me was the lovely [livejournal.com profile] ryss_rhiannon. [livejournal.com profile] miseri's actual name is Christopher. Glad you enjoyed your evening, even though we didn't talk much.

Have you checked about bringing Diva? I checked about bringing cats to Denmark and it can be done. The cat needs a recent (they specified how recent, but I don't remember) rabies vaccination, some stuff about a certified veterinarian, and the cat has to have a chip implanted or a tattoo, and that must be specified on the rabies certificate. It depends on where you are bringing the cat from.

I am affraid there the problem is me. Diva sheds way too much for me to be able to live with it. I dont like cats but i would put up with one of the less shedding kind.

I am feel bad about it but living with diva would be too much.

Where, oh where did you get that Linux license plate? It's awesome and I want one. :)

Limited availability, I'm afraid. :-)

Got it at one of the Supercomputing conferences, back when Compaq was selling Alpha boxes. Of course, it's a fake New Hampshire plate, with the "Live Free or Die" motto. ;-)

Oh well. I guess it's a collector's item now. If you ever get in a real bind you can probably sell it on Ebay for top dollar. :)

I'd like to point out that it's the second one that goes on my car. It has been stolen before!

I went back and read your dilemma about spending time with aquaintences vs. closer friends. This is a dilemma one has all the time really ... how much time for yourself, for people you already care about, for new people, etc. In general, I would say, just take it as it comes and don't overthink it. You rarely know what times will be most precious until later and if you're happy, then don't obsess over it.

I think your instincts for how to spend your time will guide you well because this is one of those things that really depends on the person. Simplisticly, an extrovert will probably be happier spending time with as many people as possible and an introvert will probably be happier spending time with the few dearest people. And anyways, as [livejournal.com profile] cpirate said, it's not like this is a one-way trip to space. You can visit, be visited, and keep in touch in a myriad of long distance ways.

Yeah, just a bout of freaking out weirdly. Something in the air, I guess...

I have been saying yes to just about every invitations I was getting, indiscriminately, though. I'll stop that, but I will go and do what I feel like, and not worry.

I think I'm a midtrovert. :-)

When exactly are you leaving? I may have need of a cat come August or so. (Depends on where I move to, and when - there's no room in my place now.)

...oh, on re-reading, it looks like you already have a home for Diva and you're just looking for someone to take her temporarily. Well, darn.

It's looking like I'm leaving in June.

I do not have a permanent residence for the Diva yet. Your interest in providing one is noted. Since you're looking at August, I'll keep an eye out for the temporary residence.

The other person I had in mind will not be able to take her. You're still interested in getting a cat later this summer?

I found you having a need of a cat rather curious. :-)

Like I said, I should be able to find some temporary housing for her, until you move (I'm looking at early June for my own move).
