Sometimes, what one wants is to curl up in bed with a favourite person, watching even something as inane as "Star Trek: Generations", keeping each other warm. Sometimes, what one wants is to curl up in bed with the cat, a laptop and cookies. In both cases, it's quite awesome!

They took the snow off one of the sides of my street, so I moved my car back. When I sat down, I felt like driving, so I just took off, under the guise of going to the 24h grocery store on Côte-Des-Neiges. One doesn't need to barrel up the University of Montreal ramp to get there, but I did anyway. Nor does one need to power drift down the place to Queen-Mary, but I did anyway.

I bought some Cheez-Whiz. Fear me.

Now, don't judge too quickly. He may be resealing his driveway...

I don't know why, but your post made me happy. :)

Btw, I was in Indigo last night and I saw a bird book, on which the spine was written in huge letters "PHANEUF". I was like, hahaha, it's pphaneuf.

Isn't that an exciting story? :P

What part made you happy? The curling up in bed, the power drifting or the Cheez-whiz? :-)

There's also a book about wine out by some Michel Phaneuf, so there were big signs touting his book not so long ago.

I have no idea what you're talking about here. She's talking about Cheez-whiz, and you are sorry about what?

I'm planning on EATING IT. Fear me.

I haven't done it yet. I just stared at it on my kitchen table. It's a kind of duel of wills.

Yeah, he publishes a new wine guide every year -- the 2006 book is the 25th edition. I have last year's, and I find it's actually a pretty good reference.

It always makes me smile to think that there's actually a Phaneuf with some class. ;)

I like to think of him as the decadent Phaneuf. ;-)

No relation? (Actually I have no idea how common/uncommon your last name is...)

All Phaneuf's come from this one guy, so there's some sort of relation, and the name isn't very common (Canada411 returns 300 hits in Québec).

One guy? Who? And how'd you find that out? (I think that's sort of interesting.)

Here is some history. On the 10th of January 2006, it will have been 300 years that this guy has been baptised with his new name! (which wasn't *exactly* "Phaneuf", but you know how these things go)

Of note, they say he's buried in St-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, which is the village across the river from St-Denis-sur-Richelieu, which is where my father comes from and lives at the moment. He also owns the funeral home in St-Antoine. :-)
