I'm finding out that Front 242's "Up Evil" album seems to be a reasonable substitute for coffee, if I'm not too far gone. Contrast with Skinny Puppy's Remission, which is just not morning music at all. I wonder how that works inside my head, really? Why is one acceptable morning music, and the other isn't?

I'm also quite amused at finding out that I was thinking I got up at 1:30pm or so, when in fact I had missed the first "1": I got up around 11:30am! That's good stuff, as I was being disappointed with myself recently for skipping out so badly on my "up by noon" rule...

Who said anything about denial? I listen to industrial of various eras and flavours very often (heck, I have Einstürzende Neubauten's amazing "Strategies Against Architecture III" in my ears right now!), and I happen to be wearing all black today (down to my socks).

But I don't like labels and pigeonholing myself. I'm an industrial goth among other things.

Yesterday, I was wearing a Mao-collared linen shirt with dress pants and I was listening to White Stripes. What do you make of that? :-)

I know! Already, commenting on the "morningness" of Skinny Puppy versus Front 242, you have to assume some amount of tongue-in-cheek involved, no? ;-)

The only problem I have with this post is that he album is not, in fact, called Up Evil, but 06:21:03:11 Up Evil. See if you can figure out what the numbers stand for :P

In fact, I did wonder about that before, but couldn't come up with anything. I also have it's sister album, Off (prefixed by similar, but different numbers, but I'm too lazy to find the actual CD, it's in a box somewhere), which is awesome (different style, very kickass nonetheless).

I don't think I need to go into what '11' maps to :P

Try a similar mapping in front of "05:22:09:12 Off"
:P
